“NovaSure endometrial ablation is a one-time, five-minute procedure.”
NovaSure endometrial ablation is a one-time, five-minute procedure that can safely and effectively reduce or eliminate heavy menstrual bleeding (another term used for abnormal uterine bleeding). To learn more about Novsure, click here.
It is quick, safe and minimally invasive.
The endometrial ablation procedure is designed to remove just the uterine lining—the endometrium—which is the part of your body that can cause heavy periods. No incisions are required, leaving your uterus intact. For women who are finished with childbearing and want relief from heavy bleeding, the NovaSure procedure is a great option that doesn’t require hormones and is less invasive than a hysterectomy.
HOW THE NOVASURE PROCEDURE WORKS
Your doctor slightly dilates your cervix, inserts a slender wand and extends a triangular-shaped netted device into your uterus.
The netting expands, fitting to the size and shape of your uterus.
The NovaSure procedure uses radiofrequency to ablate endometrium. During the procedure, precisely measured radio-frequency energy is delivered through the netting for about 90 seconds.
The netted device is pulled back into the wand, and both are removed from your uterus.
